In model year 1975 the 2cv was modernised. With rectangular head-lights, a plastic grille and telescopic shock absorbers on all 4 wheels, for some it lost a bit of its iconic value. But no worries, shortly after the 2cv Spécial was introduced, a stripped-down version.

Again with round head-lights, more simple interior, cardboard door panels, roof that closes from the outside and no shiny details. Also without the third side window and a very simple dashboard: it made you think of the models from the sixties. Throughout Europe it was sold as a 2cv4 and only in Jaune Cédrat. Later on Citroën Benelux introduced a 2cv6-version, solely in Rouge Soleil, followed by Rouge Géranium.

This Spécial comes from departement 37, Indre-et-Loire, in the middle of France. We know it was bought in the Limoges-area and after that was part of a Dutch collection, no other history is known to us. It has once been restored in France, with the emphasis on the exterior. We also did the floors, so now it’s coherent again. This 2cv will fit you if you like: a beautifully howling engine but not gaining any speed, a very rudimentary outfit but attracting attention nevertheless, less windows but more (lemon yellow) light in your life.

We deliver it ready for the road.
